The next step is of course the cost. When comparing the costs of the various landscapers, make sure the estimate is apples to apples or everyone is bidding the same scope and size of the project. Did the contractor list all the materials, plants and sizes? If you are considering a paver patio or retaining wall is the square footage noted? Are they going to install your backyard components as per industry standards? Once you are comfortable with the price and feel good about the landscaper, you can then award them the contract. Don’t be pressured into the work. If you are pressured, think hard about your choices.
