I can hardly believe how busy all the landscape contractors are in the Vancouver WA area. Our company (Woody’s Custom Landscaping, Inc.) is booked until the middle of summer and the demand for our services and other landscapers is through the roof. The economy is on a mend and their are many baby boomers moving from out of state buying a home or more. It is a wonderful thing that we are so busy but, I am concerned that many folks will not be able to get their landscapes and hardscapes in this summer. To be honest in my 39 years as a landscape contractor, I have never been this booked out and busy. It is an eye opener.
I would like to help those that are looking for a landscape contractor do work for them. Be wary of anyone who can start right away. With this business climate, that really can’t happen unless the contractor is just starting out or has a bad reputation. It is possible that a client cancelled at the last minute and now their schedule is open though.
If you can’t find someone to install your landscaping this summer, really consider doing the work in fall. Even though your plans can’t come to fruition now, waiting may be prudent.
Think about getting a landscape design. You have all your ideas and plans on a piece of paper. Landscape contractors can then bid the project apples to apples. that means a lot to your budget and in fairness to all the other people bidding the project.
